The laboratory is a teaching facility that offers students and faculty the chance to participate in labs and training exercises and workshops that are designed to help non-users begin using GIS software and existing users to expand their skills in such areas as understanding cartographic design and production, remote sensing and GPS. Established in 1982 as a teaching and research laboratory. Mandate includes: Innovative Teaching, Ground-breaking Research, Knowledge Transfer, Enhanced Security and Emergency Response.
